Elphaba has just left Oz with Fiyero. They flee Oz and go to Fliaan, who is beginning to grow very irksome over their claims over Ugabu. The Ozians, having also claimed Ugabu as part of their country, are growing irate over the irksome Fliaan.
Two months after the "death" of the Wicked Witch of the West, the Fliaan king visits Glinda the Good in the Emerald city.
"Ah, Miss Glinda the Good. How are you today?" The Fliaan king asked her the day he visited her.
"Why I am...wonderful, King Ianz, but of course, you already know that I am wonderful. What is it that brings you...No, no, he is here on an appointment," Glinda said as a guard rushed to her side, [/b]"Please leave us for the moment being. Now, what is it that brings you out of Fliaan and into Oz."[/b]
"You know exactly why I am here." King Ianz stated
"Well, our 'problem' is solved. The only other reason that I can see you being here is to see me! Oh..." She started
"No, I am not here to see you!" He interrupted. Glinda's face turned angry, as if she were annoyed from the lack of attention. "No, I am here to discuss the claims over Ugabu."
"Ugabu? Oh, well Oz hasn't really had the time to worry about that..."
"So then it belongs to Fliaan?" King Ianz asked hopefully
"Well, I'm afraid not. Ugabu is proud Ozian territory and I'm afraid that we can't give it up. Now if you want..."
"No, I want nothing but Ugabu." King Ianz shouted
"I repeat, I am afraid that...that I can't just hand it over." Glinda said, "Now if you would be so kind as to leave my presence."
"I will not!" King Ianz said feircly, "Even if I have to fight you for it..."
At that, Glinda took out her wand and silenced him. She started waving it and spinning it around. She gave it a final wave and his features turned into that of a womans and his clothes turned into a very dusty gown that was torn in many places.
"Well I guess that this is war, then." King Fliaan said, in a voice that was three octaves higher than Glindas.
"I suppose so. And while you're back in Fliaan, discussing how to overthrow me with my Fliaan admirers, get yourself a makeover. I won't even look at a woman that ugly." Glinda said, then waved her wand and disappeared.
